INTRODUCTION
To meet the challenges of emerging scenario in the 21ST century and to explore the new opportunities in the field of Commerce. The Department of Commerce was started in the year 2000 with a sanctioned strength of 64 in UG. The course aims at Banking, Management Accounting, Auditing, Finance, and Company Secretaryship.
SCOPE OF THE PROGRAMME
Bachelor of Commerce
- Commerce students have a good future in banking and financial institutions. There are various subjects studied under commerce stream some being theoretical like Business Law and others being practical like Financial Accounting, Business Finance, Auditing, Taxation etc.
- Every subject deals with different category of functioning of business. Commerce graduates are eligible for most of the post in Government Offices, Banks and Defense services like IAS, PSC, RBI, IBPS, RAILWAY, SSC, SI, Income Tax Officers etc.
- There is account and finance department in all the companies where Commerce Students will get preference over others.
- Auditing Firms, Payroll Accounting, Finance Executive, Investment Banker, UK and Us Tax Profiles are the examples where Students can land a job. It provides a stronger foundation for further studies like M.Com., M.Com-CA., ICWA, CA, MBA, MFC, MCA, MFT, MIB, etc.
Master of Commerce
- M.Com is a post- graduate Master’s degree which focuses on Commerce, Accounting, Management and Economics related subjects and to impart professional education and training in various aspects of business and its environment and provide them with opportunities to develop analytical skills in order to meet the challenges of business at the national and global level.
- The course mainly includes thesis based components and there may be some research based elements included.
- This course is suitable for those candidates who want to go for higher studies and research work in the field such as Statistics, Taxation, Accounting & Finance, Banking, Insurance and many more.
- This will enable the students to have a deeper understanding of the subjects and apply their learning in real-life scenarios. The classroom environment is adapted with interactive sessions making the subject interesting and the learning process more effective.
